“Entrelinhas”

(Porto, 2023)

When I moved to Porto, I bought a sofa online. It was packed in a very large cardboard.

Coming from a fashion background, I love textiles and had the chance to learn how to weave with a local weaver in Peru, during my solo backpacking trip in that country. So when I saw that huge cardboard, I couldn‘t miss the opportunity: I decided to build a ginormous hand loom with it. (Later also built some very tiny ones, because I love a contrast.)

I used yarns that I brought with me from Brazil and Germany but I also fabricated my own “yarn”, using as raw material strips of a canvas I have painted earlier and wanted to recycle into something different.

Below you can check a bit of the process and the final results ;)
